Sabina + Patrick's Rustic Outdoor Yorkshire Wedding
Before any wedding day I send out a questionnaire to ask the couple a little bit more about their day. I think the easiest way to introduce this amazing wedding is to show you what Sabina described to me via email.
“If you had to label it, it would be rustic. There will be lots of wood and herbs, all our tables are named after herbs. I really wanted the room to smell amazing and in the Victorian period, bouquets would be given and each flower would mean something special. The idea is that each herb we've chosen will contribute to make our marriage a happy and successful one. The confetti will also be made entirely of herbs so hopefully it will smell amazing!”
Let me tell you, the day matched Sabina and Patrick’s vision perfectly! They had an outdoor ceremony at a local village hall in North Yorkshire, even though it was pouring down with rain, the confetti DID smell amazing and the table decorations were perfectly rustic and romantic..
Sabina and Patrick met at Leeds University at the kayaking club. Over the past 10 years they've shared wonderful adventures and created many memories; from kayaking in the French Alps, exploring Europe in a camper van, walking in the Lake District and the Cleveland Hills, where they got engaged. They once cycled from Amsterdam to Paris to watch the finale of the Tour de France on their tandem which also made an appearance at the wedding!!!!
Patrick's very talented sister Lucy made the bouquets, button holes and decorated the venue too. She learned these skills from Patrick's Grandma who, sadly, is no longer with us so it was a beautiful way to for her to be remembered on the day. They were truly some of my favourite flower arrangements from any wedding I’ve ever photographed…ever!
The whole day was such a happy celebration and I didn’t see Sabina or Patrick without a smile on their faces all day, just how it should be!
Thank you for letting me experience such a lovely day with you guys and I wish you both all the happiness in the world!
