“If you had to label it, it would be rustic. There will be lots of wood and herbs, all our tables are named after herbs. I really wanted the room to smell amazing and in the Victorian period, bouquets would be given and each flower would mean something special. The idea is that each herb we've chosen will contribute to make our marriage a happy and successful one. The confetti will also be made entirely of herbs so hopefully it will smell amazing!”
Do you ever look back at old family and wedding photographs and it just makes you feel happy? You remember exactly where you were when that photograph was taken and you remember the time of year, the season and the people that you were with.
Helen and Paul had such a relaxed wedding morning, a few close friends and family to visit them whilst they both got ready at the same venue and both of their dogs for extra company too. (Noo, don’t worry, he didn’t see her dress!)
Sammy + Jonny have been dating since HIGH SCHOOL, how sweet is that!
Sammy and her girl gang started their day getting pampered by the lovely Nala + Knot at the gorgeous Oak Royal Golf Club. Jonny got prepared with his closest family and friends at home and was being photographed by the talented Jo Boulton, thanks Jo!
They decided to tie the knot at Holy Trinity Church in Hoghton and it was a lovely ceremony filled with tears and plenty of laughter.
Natalie + Andrew got married on the 13th May 2018 and what an amazing day it was. The sun was shining in Cheshire and the day was set-up perfectly. The venue was gorgeous including the bridal room where Natalie and her bridesmaids were getting ready when I arrived..
This gorgeous little family took part in one of my spring mini sessions. We did a location shoot at Otley Chevin Forest Park in Leeds, one of three options from my mini session dates..
Every wedding photographer has their ideal wedding planned out in their heads. Outdoors, indoors, classy, rustic, small and intimate, large and chaotic. One of my ideal pre-wedding shoot destinations is..
I've been taking part in 'March: Meet The Maker' on Instagram and I thought I would share it on here too. Hi! As you may well have guessed my name is Louise! I’m the owner and solo photographer of Louise Barry Photographer and I really need to get some professional head shots done...
It's almost as though people think you can't have a photo-shoot unless it's a newborn baby or a special occasion. I hope the following photographs encourage more and more people to take part in sessions, photo-shoots are for children and adults of all ages! What are you waiting for!
Sometimes fussy, awake newborns take two sessions to get sleepy gorgeous photographs and that's just fine! Kate + Liam, I hope you love these images as much as I do, Harry is SO precious.
It was a short but sweet reception for Mac and Rita, a few close friends and family, celebrating together at the historic Leeds Town Hall.
This was my second shoot with little Luna, I photographed her as a newborn baby and now her first birthday!
Sometimes in your 1 hour session it can take baby quarter of that time to come round to me and my huge (to them) camera, and that's fine. Sometimes the photographs when they have direct eye contact but no expression are my favourites!
Not only was it their wedding day but they had other news too - have a closer look at some of my favourite photographs to work out what that might be!
I've photographed a few events at Charlie's workplace before so naturally she followed me on social media, saw I was doing a casting call for mother + daughter duos and that was that!
I photographed Ophelia with her mummy and daddy at the Otley Chevin, it was a lovely autumn day, a tiny bit of rain but hey ho - we live in England so we didn't expect anything less!
Supporting local businesses is everything, so I thought it was my turn to share some with you...
Abs + Ethan got married at a gorgeous little church in Barkisland and had the ceremony at Bagden Hall, Scisset. It was a great day filled with confetti, ice-cream and the best first dance I've ever witnessed!
When Becky first messaged me about booking in I was so excited, she has two of the most photogenic children in the world, and they didn't disappoint!
This session took place in a huge woodland area near to their home, a space for them to run around, be free and wild!
I did a cake smash for my nephew Bodhi so yes I may be a little biased in this blog post but he's JUST SO FREAKIN' CUTE.
Grace's mum Natalie continued the ever-popular theme of unicorns for this little lady's first birthday cake smash. The cake was beautiful and Grace was even cuter, such a sweetie!
I went to school with Ste so it was nice to hear from him when I was doing an offer of my sessions, he scooped up the last space available and scheduled a family shoot!
As the majority of children are, the eldest Colbey was a little shy to start but it didn't take him long to come out of his shell and pull some poses that supermodels would be jealous of!
For baby Oscar I did a combination of a posed newborn session and a lifestyle session with Mum and Dad and he certainly kept me on my toes! He didn't cry but he did not want to sleep..
I've always been one to roll my eye when people say they're going on holiday in the UK. Why?! Don't you want the sun? Don't you need a pool? What about a beach or going on an aeroplane, won't you miss those things? This year I was that person. We've just recently moved house and after an unsuccessful scout for a last minute deal we decided to go to North Wales..
Lovely day at Formby Beach with my love.
Kept seeing lots of families and couples and just wanted to photograph them all! Would love to do a shoot here if anyone is interested..
U.N.I.C.O.R.N C.A.K.E S.M.A.S.H!
Elena's birthday invites, birthday cake and general birthday theme was the ever popular, unicorns. So it felt right when mum sent me some ideas for the cake, I got in touch with a local cake maker who created a gorgeous unicorn face with pastel coloured swirls for the mane and tiny pearls throughout...
I was invited back to photograph the summer fayre at Lindley Grange Care Home after photographing a fashion show earlier in the year. The events are held to raise money for the care home based in Huddersfield, the money raised helps towards activities for all the residents in the home...
Thinking of having some family portraits done? Here’s a little snapshot from the lovely ‘Lam’ family’s autumn mini-sessions this year at Roundhay Park, Leeds!
